76ers Teacher Experience

Jarred, Tate, and I went to the Philadelphia 76ers game with Mr. Rossi, Mr. Smither and Ms. Klase for the teacher experience. Back in October, the three of us won the bid at homecoming to go to the 76ers game with the teachers. So when we won, the planning and excitement started right away.

We went to see the Sixers play the Portland Trailblazers on November 22nd, which was conveniently on our half-day of school on Grandparents Day. Since we had a lot of time before the game, we decided on getting cheesesteaks beforehand. But rather than going to one place, we went to five.

Now you are probably thinking to yourself, “There’s no way you ate five cheesesteaks,” which you are right. But we did choose five cheesesteak places (either famous or shops with good reviews), and ordered two cheesesteaks from each place, splitting them into thirds. The places we chose were called Chubby’s, Dalessandro’s, Sonny’s, Jim’s, and Woodrows. Jarred is doing a cheesesteak review on these destinations, which you can read in two weeks in The Logic, but my personal favorite was Chubby’s. Then we decided to make a little stop to Frangelli’s Bakery, suggested by Mr. Smither.

Now onto the game. The Sixers came out to an exciting 16-0 run and had the crowd going crazy. The 76ers never gave up the lead and led by a comfortable margin the whole time. But probably the most exciting part of the night was when the Trailblazers, Jusuf Nurkić  came to the free throw line, missing both, giving the whole stadium a free small frosty from Wendy’s. The Sixers have a deal with Wendy’s where if the opposing team’s player misses 2 free throws in a row, the whole stadium gets free Frosty’s. I think this is a genius tactic because after the opposing player misses the first, the stadium gets the loudest it will all night to try to get him to miss the second free throw.  You can check out our reaction in the video below. Philly ended up winning 101-80, with five players in double digits in points, with Joel Embiid leading the way with 28.

It is safe to say that, this was a fun night. From going on a cheesesteak tour, to grabbing donuts, to going to the Sixers game and screaming at the top of our lungs, it was great. It is a night that I will not forget, and I am sure everyone else will think the same. I would recommend that you guys check out a Sixers game when you can. The atmosphere in the stadium is so electric.
