Finally the spring concert is coming up on Friday, May 12th at 7pm! This event is really meaningful for Berks Christian School, and we’re looking forward to the 41st annual spring concert.
Since the beginning of January, the choir and band have been preparing to make this a perfect show. The choir is going to sing about God and make beautiful harmonies. Our principal Mr Warner produced and taught them directly.
The event will start with the youngest elementary school students and conclude with the high school band. Many students from choir and band have cooperated to make this show. Here’s what you can expect to see on Friday night:
4th-5th Grade Choir
Elementary school kids are going to sing hymns. They have the most pure and clean voices in this world like birds. They are really cute, so let’s support them sincerely!
Middle School Choir
The middle school people are prepared to take the stage! They were working hard all semester to ready these three songs for this performance. I encourage them to do their best and sing these songs with their lovely voices.
Antiphonal Cantate by Greg Gilpin
Gallop by Ken Berg
Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho arr. James Desjardins
High School Choir
Our high school students will also perform three songs. One of them includes selections from the Behold the Lamb oratorio, performed last April in Lancaster & Reading. TJ Moses, 10th, said, “Behold the Lamb was a fantastic performance, and I’m excited to do some of these songs again.” I interviewed some of the choir about their practices. They are excited for the concert, and they want us to cheer them on when they sing.
When the Night is Gone Chris Massa
Selections from Behold the Lamb Chris Massa
I Shall Not be Moved arr. Alice Parker
Carrie Warner, piano
Mr. Rappoldt is conducting the high school band. They will be performing five songs, including two with member of the BCS faculty. “I’m going to play tuba and cello parts on a keyboard. It’s pretty great,” said Mr. Smither. One of these songs is a medley of Disney songs. “This is my favorite song because it’s groovy,” said Drew Keylor, 11th grade.
This finale should be the highlight of the spring concert! Let’s enjoy!
